KNOW BEFORE
YOU GO
Making plans to visit Central Washington this winter? Before you go, it’s important to do your research and know what to expect during your travels. Here are a few things to consider:
01.
During wildfire season, Kittitas County may have fire restrictions in place. Please always be careful with fire and check local restrictions before enjoying a campfire.
02.
Hiking, biking, or planning to explore the great outdoors another way? Plan ahead by researching local trails and compiling a list of the ones that meet your needs.
03.
Confirm lodging or camping arrangements before leaving home.
04.
Check our events calendar to see which exciting spring festivals and fairs are happening during your time in Central Washington!
05.
Speaking of events, some, like the Ellensburg Rodeo, can bring a large influx of travelers to our area. We encourage you to extend your stay by a few extra nights to allow the traffic on I-90 to clear out. This will reduce your stress while traveling and give you more time to explore Central Washington!
06.
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to join the Central Washington Outdoor Plan to Play Pact. This pledge commits explorers to recreating responsibly during their time in our natural spaces. Click here to return to our Plan to Play Pact to learn more.
